Description The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift truck to accomplish various materials handling assignments. Responsibilities Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations, including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas. Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment, or processing materials accordingly. Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas. Reports any problems with materials or transportation to the supervisor. Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas. Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical difficulties to management. Performs other related duties as requested. Duties / Responsibilities Apply understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items. Requirements Requirements / Skills High School diploma or equivalent required. Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license. 1 year of forklift operating experience. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. (English) Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness. Proficiency in using MS Office, MES and SAP. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Must be willing and able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, with occasional team lifting up to 100 lbs, stand, and walk for a 10-hour shift. Must be willing and able to work Monday through Friday and weekends as required based on business needs. Willing to work daily and weekly overtime. Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test. Able to work fixed or rotating shifts (example: work a day shift and then an evening/night shift on a defined rotating schedule). Adjust to changing needs in a fast-paced environment. Able to work rotating schedules/shifts.
