Forklift Mechanic
Equipment AssetsWhat You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on forklifts and material-handling equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic problems. Work on LP, gas, diesel, and electric forklifts . Diagnose electrical issues using a voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, and other diagnostic tools. Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, drive systems, brakes, steering, cooling systems, hydraulics, masts, chains, forks, and related components. Read and use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Perform equipment inspections and identify safety or maintenance issues. Test equipment after repairs to make sure it is operating properly and safely. Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other shop equipment when needed. Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance. Work with operators and other departments to troubleshoot equipment problems and reduce downtime. Keep the shop and work area clean and safe. What We're Looking For Mechanical experience or a strong mechanical aptitude. Forklift repair experience is a plus, but not required . Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, pneumatics, engines, or heavy equipment is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. Comfortable using basic electrical testing equipment. Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals. Welding experience is a plus. Good problem-solving skills and common sense. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to safely work around heavy equipment and moving machinery. Valid driver's license. Experience Experienced mechanics are encouraged to apply, but entry-level candidates are welcome. If you have good mechanical skills, like working with your hands, and are willing to learn, we are willing to train the right person.
