Forklift and PET Saw Operator

Matheus Lumber is looking for an experienced forklift operator with a strong lumber yard background to join our growing Ogden operation. Experience of operating a PET saw is strongly preferred. We need someone who works safely, handles material accurately, follows through, and takes pride in keeping the yard organized. This is a hands-on position for someone who can contribute immediately while helping us improve how the yard operates. Who are we? We are a privately held organization headquartered in Woodinville, Washington that specializes in selling lumber on a wholesale basis to customers in residential and commercial construction industries. We operate 12 branches that provide lumber and related forest products to customers at job sites throughout the U.S. This position is based out of our Odgen, Utah Branch. Use budgets and be cost conscious Good Judgment: Use appropriate discretion. Role Overview This is an hourly, non-exempt, full-time position targeted at 40 hours per week. This role supports the distribution and delivery of lumber and building materials to customers, which includes framers, general contractors, and project owners. The role reports to Tyler Matthews. Specific duties include: Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move lumber, and organize inventory. Operate the PET saw Pull orders accurately, verify material and quantities, and complete required paperwork. Assist with railcar unloading and other receiving activities. Support cycle counts, identify inventory discrepancies, and maintain accurate material identification. Complete daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues promptly. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Communicate clearly with the yard manager, coworkers, and drivers. Professional requirements Strong forklift experience handling lumber and building materials. Previous lumber yard experience and familiarity with lumber products. PET saw experience is strongly preferred. Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a team. Good judgment around equipment, material handling, and yard traffic. Willingness to work outdoors and perform the physical duties of the position.
