Food Delivery Driver

Responsibilities Safely operate various types of delivery vehicles, including personal vehicles, vans, or box trucks, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and safety standards. Pick up food orders from restaurants or designated locations and deliver them promptly to customers’ specified addresses. Load and unload deliveries using manual handling techniques or material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Maintain accurate delivery records using mobile devices or GPS systems, ensuring all orders are correctly documented. Communicate effectively with customers to confirm delivery details and provide exceptional customer service throughout each interaction. Follow established routes and schedules efficiently, adjusting as needed based on traffic conditions or delivery priorities. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform safe lifting practices to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with knowledge of route driving and warehouse operations preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Ability to handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during loading and unloading processes. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and weight handling in the workplace. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous. Comfortable working with mobile devices for navigation, communication, and record keeping. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift heavy items, and move efficiently throughout shifts.
