Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Florida Marine Surveyor to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections and assessments of marine vessels, property, and related assets to evaluate condition, safety compliance, and risk factors. Your expertise will support insurance claims, risk management strategies, and regulatory compliance within the marine industry. Responsibilities Perform thorough inspections of marine vessels, docks, and related property using specialized tools such as measuring wheels, digital cameras, inspection devices, and mobile survey equipment. Assess damage or deterioration caused by age and wear and tear on a boat Conduct risk analysis by evaluating safety hazards, fire code compliance, workplace safety standards—including OSHA and ABYC standards—and wear and tear Document findings in detailed reports that include quantitative analysis and trend identification to support insurance claims and risk management decisions. Communicate survey results clearly and professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Stay current with industry regulations, including fire codes, OSHA safety standards, workers' compensation insurance requirements, and mold remediation protocols, to ensure all inspections meet ABYC standards. Experience Proven experience in boat conditions, boat repair, boat engines, and thermal imaging within the marine sector is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance policies related to property damage, liability, workers' compensation insurance, and fraud detection practices. Familiarity with construction inspection techniques and construction site safety protocols is advantageous. Proficiency in report writing Hands-on experience using inspection tools such as digital cameras for surveying, GPS devices, and mobile devices for field data collection. Knowledge of the marine-environment regulations enhances your suitability for this role. Ability to analyze survey data trends to proactively identify potential risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
