Flooring Operations Manager

Jerry's Floor Store is seeking an experienced and hands-on Flooring Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate daily business operations across multiple departments, including production, granite, warehouse, purchasing, and inventory management. This individual will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining workflow consistency, managing resources, and keeping departments aligned with company goals. The ideal candidate is an organized, solutions-oriented leader who can manage people, processes, and priorities while maintaining accountability across all areas of operations. Key Responsibilities Operations & Department Management Oversee daily operations across production, granite, warehouse, and related departments. Coordinate workflow between departments to ensure projects move efficiently from order entry through production, delivery, and installation. Establish operational procedures, priorities, and expectations to improve productivity and accountability. Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Monitor departmental performance and ensure daily operational goals are being met. Production & Workflow Coordination Oversee production scheduling and workflow to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. Coordinate with production teams to manage workloads, staffing, materials, and deadlines. Monitor production capacity and address bottlenecks or delays. Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution. Warehouse & Inventory Management Oversee warehouse operations, organization, receiving, and inventory control. Manage inventory levels and ensure materials are available when needed. Coordinate purchasing and replenishment to minimize shortages and unnecessary excess inventory. Establish processes for inventory accuracy, material handling, and warehouse efficiency. Purchasing & Vendor Coordination Oversee purchasing activities and coordinate material orders with vendors. Monitor purchasing costs, availability, and delivery timelines. Develop and maintain vendor relationships. Ensure purchasing decisions align with operational needs and budget expectations. Leadership & Accountability Provide direction, support, and accountability to departmental employees and supervisors. Assist with staffing, training, performance management, and employee development. Communicate operational priorities and expectations across departments. Partner with senior leadership on operational planning, budgeting, and business improvements. Provide regular updates regarding departmental performance, staffing needs, and operational challenges. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in operations management, business operations, production management, or a related leadership position. Experience in the flooring, construction, countertop, granite, manufacturing, or building materials industries. Previous experience overseeing multiple departments or operational teams. Strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing, production coordination, and warehouse operations. Demonstrated ability to lead employees, establish accountability, and improve operational processes. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency with business management systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing production and warehouse teams. Familiarity with purchasing, vendor management, inventory control, and scheduling systems. DOT certification or willingness to obtain applicable DOT qualifications, if needed for company driving responsibilities.
