Floater School Bus Driver / Relief Dispatcher

Are you a versatile team player who enjoys variety in your work? Prairie Bus Lines is seeking a Floater School Bus Driver / Relief Dispatcher in Red Deer to support operations as needed. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to step in where needed to keep our services running smoothly. Floater Drivers work a split shift of 6:30 am to 10:00 am and 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday (subject to change for route coverage). The Dispatcher role will be used as relief, providing backup support for dispatch duties as needed. This role will have a minimum of 20 hours a week as dispatch relief and minimum of 20 hours a week as a floater. Flexible upon needs of business. Wage: $22.24 per hour Key Responsibilities Operate buses safely and professionally when covering driving shifts Assist with dispatch duties, including scheduling, customer communication, and administrative tasks as required Provide excellent customer service to passengers, drivers, and team members Follow company policies and safety regulations at all times Maintain clear communication with supervisors and coworkers Adapt to changing priorities, covering shifts for vacations, absences, or peak demand periods Qualifications Valid Class 2S Alberta driver’s license Strong communication and problem-solving skills Knowledge of Red Deer and surrounding area Comfortable driving new routes under short notice Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure Comfortable with Microsoft Suite and other computer tasks Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call as required
