PORT CITY Airport Transit is a growing, locally-owned passenger transportation company based in Wilmington, NC. We provide professional regional airport transportation and are seeking dependable independent contractor drivers interested in flexible driving opportunities. This opportunity is particularly well suited for someone who has significant flexibility in their schedule and is interested in accepting driving assignments that may occur at different times throughout the week. The right candidate(s) will: Have broad and flexible weekly availability Be comfortable with variable hours rather than requiring the same hours every week Have availability for early-AM assignments , including trips beginning before 7:00 AM Have weekend availability Be willing to accept additional assignments when their availability permits Already be an excellent, safe and confident driver Be dependable, punctual and detail-oriented Be personable and provide outstanding customer service Be comfortable using smartphone applications for navigation and trip information Enjoy driving and interacting with passengers Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude Weekly driving opportunities vary based on passenger demand, reservations, contractor availability, and assignments accepted. This is best suited for someone who values flexibility and supplemental earning opportunities rather than requiring a traditional fixed weekly schedule. REQUIREMENTS Candidates must: Hold a valid North Carolina driver's license Have a strong driving record Be willing and able to complete required background and motor vehicle record screenings Be willing and able to complete required drug screening Be able to assist passengers with luggage weighing approximately 40–50 lbs. Have excellent customer-service and communication skills Be comfortable operating clean, professionally maintained passenger vehicles Be able to accurately follow passenger reservation and transportation details Candidates should already be safe, confident and highly capable drivers who are comfortable driving in varying traffic, weather and road conditions. Previous experience involving frequent driving, airport transportation, rideshare, shuttle, delivery, customer service, or similar work is a plus, but is not required. Daily assignments frequently include transportation to or from Wilmington International Airport (ILM) as well as other local and regional destinations.
