Fleet Technician - Rental Car Prep & Maintenance (Part-Time)

We're growing our fleet and looking for a car person who takes pride in keeping great vehicles in perfect shape. Why you'll like this job Work hands-on with high-end, well-kept vehicles, not worn-out fleet cars We provide the tools and equipment you need, so you don't have to bring your own On-call work driven by guest bookings: the more trips we host, the more hours you get Get in early: this role can grow into a full-time position as we add more vehicles Work independently with a small, owner-led team that values your input What you'll do Detail vehicles inside and out between guest trips: vacuum, wipe down and condition interiors, clean glass, wheels and tires, and keep paint looking showroom-ready Do cosmetic touch-ups such as paint chips, light scratches, scuffs and wheel curb rash, so small blemishes never reach a guest Take vehicles to the car wash and to service or repair shops as needed Inspect each vehicle before guest pickup so it's spotless, fueled or charged, and ready to go Diagnose and repair mechanical issues and handle routine maintenance, so vehicles spend less time in the shop and more time booked Spot and report damage or issues, and take photos for our records Keep vehicles staged and on schedule for guest pickups and returns Schedule This is an on-call role, not a set schedule. Work happens whenever a guest returns a car or a vehicle needs attention, and we often won't know far in advance. Hours vary week to week and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. You'll need to be available on short notice, often the same day, and able to respond quickly to texts or calls. Requirements Must live in or near Hermitage, TN (within about a 20-minute drive), since you'll often be called in on short notice between trips Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Reliable transportation to get to and from vehicles Hands-on mechanical experience (1+ years preferred) and the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles yourself, including brakes, suspension, batteries, fluids, tires and basic electrical Detail-oriented: you notice the little things guests would notice Dependable, honest and good at communicating by text or phone Must be 18 or older Nice to have ASE certification or professional shop, dealership or fleet mechanic experience Experience with Turo or another rental fleet Pay: $15 to $20 per hour, based on mechanical experience. Hiring process This is a local, in-person job, not a remote or work-from-home position. Interviews are held in person in Hermitage.
