role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills while assisting experienced technicians in ensuring our fleet’s safety and efficiency. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs under guidance, helping to minimize breakdowns and improve fleet reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in performing vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance on various types of fleet equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Learn to conduct maintenance repairs under supervision, addressing scheduled repairs and driver-reported issues efficiently.
• Document all actions taken on work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Gain proficiency in Sysco’s maintenance-related computer programs.
• Evaluate vehicles for roadworthiness and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Collaborate with management to prioritize a work schedule based on operation needs and maintenance compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical program preferred.
Experience
• No prior experience is required, provided you have the appropriate educational background.
Professional Skills
• Valid Driver's License; CDL-A preferred.
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems and components.
• Basic skills in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems.
• Familiarity with welding and cutting techniques.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, bending, and lifting.
• Good vision for detail-oriented work.
