This individual will be responsible for maintaining and repairing garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, and other fleet equipment while supporting additional maintenance needs across our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the capability to perform both routine and complex repairs efficiently. This individual must be able to work independently, collaborate as part of a team, maintain punctuality, follow instructions, and bring a positive, solution-oriented attitude to the workplace. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Job Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and oil changes on garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, and skid steer equipment Conduct maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation Diagnose and complete large-scale repairs on trucks and equipment as needed Conduct DOT inspections to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations Identify and source necessary parts for repairs to minimize downtime Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently Respond to urgent maintenance and repair needs throughout the day Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment Qualifications Required Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy-duty equipment technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Effective communication and problem-solving skills Knowledge of parts sourcing and inventory management Preferred Qualifications Experience working on garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, or skid steer equipment Experience conducting DOT inspections Familiarity with fleet maintenance operations and environmental services equipment Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy tools and parts up to 50 lbs.
