Fleet Team Leader Trainee
National Car Rental*Seeking applicants with Sunday morning availability.* POSITION SUMMARY The Fleet Team Leader assists the Fleet Supervisor with the daily coordination of Fleet Operations. This position provides guidance and support to Fleet employees, helps prioritize vehicle movement and service needs, and ensures vehicles are properly organized, maintained, and prepared for rental. The Fleet Team Leader is expected to lead by example, communicate effectively, and help maintain accurate vehicle information and smooth daily operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with the daily coordination and workflow of Fleet Operations. Provide direction, guidance, and support to Fleet team members throughout the workday. Help prioritize vehicle movement, preparation, maintenance, and service needs based on operational demand. Coordinate vehicle exchanges, movements, and staging to support Rental and Service Operations. Monitor vehicle readiness and communicate outstanding issues or priorities to the Fleet Supervisor. Assist with keeping the fleet and parking areas organized, clean, and properly staged. Review vehicle status information and ensure updates are accurately entered and maintained in TSD. Communicate vehicle issues, maintenance needs, and changes in vehicle status to the appropriate department. Assist with identifying vehicles requiring inspection, repair, cleaning, or additional preparation. Help ensure Fleet procedures and daily responsibilities are followed consistently. Assist with training and coaching Fleet employees on proper procedures and expectations. Support the Fleet Supervisor with daily operational tasks and special projects as needed. Promote teamwork and effective communication between Fleet, Service, and Rental. Perform regular Fleet duties and vehicle movement as needed to support operations. Other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in Fleet, Service, Rental, or a related operational environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with employees and management. Ability to provide direction and assistance to team members. Comfortable using computer systems and operational software, including TSD or similar fleet-management systems. Ability to accurately update and maintain vehicle information and statuses. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to safely move and operate vehicles as required. Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to assist where needed. LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS The Fleet Team Leader is expected to lead by example by maintaining a professional attitude, following established procedures, communicating clearly, and supporting the team. The position should help identify operational concerns and bring them to the attention of the Fleet Supervisor or Operations Management rather than allowing issues to go unresolved. WORKING CONDITIONS This position involves working primarily in an outdoor fleet and parking environment and may require exposure to varying weather conditions. The position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and entering and exiting vehicles throughout the workday. Schedule: Regularly scheduled during Fleet operating hours, with flexibility based on operational needs.
