bility • Oversees daily and after-hours transportation operations, including dispatch, store deliveries, and reverse logistics. (50%) • Ensures FMCSA and DOT compliance, driver safety, and legal operations. (5%) • Build strong relationships with drivers through regular communication and quarterly face-to-face meetings. (5%) • Manages driver training, retention, time at home, load optimization, equipment usage, and performance metrics (e.g., idle reduction, mpg improvement). (10%) • Responds to driver emergencies, resolves load issues (e.g., overweight, paperwork), and maintains nightly issue logs. (10%) • Monitors satellite communications, reports late deliveries, and plans swaps as needed. (10%) • Completes required reports and maintains effective use of the driver management system. (10%) Job Qualifications • Proven leadership in transportation operations.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT regulations, and CSA program.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of driver logs, hours of service, and vehicle safety inspections.
• Proficient in transportation optimization software and MS Office.
• Ability to function in a high-stress environment.
• Knowledge of US geography.
Working Conditions • 10% travel is required. Education/Experience • Bachelor's degree in business or Logistics preferred, or equivalent experience.
