Job Title: Fleet Specialist Location: Lancaster, TX Pay: $31.00–$43.00/hr Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire | Onsite Job Overview We are hiring Fleet Specialists to support autonomous trucking operations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This is a hands-on technical operations role working directly with Class 8 autonomous vehicles. You’ll help prepare autonomous systems for missions, monitor system behavior in real time, troubleshoot technical issues, and turn what happens on the road into clear information engineering teams can use. This is not a traditional fleet or logistics role. We are looking for people with strong technical aptitude, clear communication skills, and the ability to take on increasing responsibility as the operation grows. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you do need to be comfortable working in Linux, using terminal-based tools, reviewing logs, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Key Responsibilities Prepare autonomous vehicle systems for manual and autonomous missions Complete software, map, firmware, and mission configuration checks Launch and manage missions using internal applications, Jira, and Linux terminal workflows Monitor vehicle and autonomy system health in real time Communicate system behavior clearly to Vehicle Operators and technical teams Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and system faults before escalation Review system information and logs to identify potential technical issues Document on-road events, disengagements, delays, and system behavior with detailed technical context Complete pre-trip and post-trip autonomous system inspections Inspect sensors and related vehicle hardware Verify mission data, logs, and data drives are properly captured and offloaded Maintain accurate mission records, technical documentation, and shift handoffs Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Experience in technical support, fleet operations, vehicle testing, operations, logistics, or a similar environment Hands-on experience with Linux, command-line tools, terminals, scripting, Python, or similar technical systems Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues methodically Comfortable reviewing system information, logs, errors, and technical workflows Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to clearly document technical issues for engineering and operations teams Strong attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving skills Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately under time pressure Comfortable working in and around Class 8 trucks Ability to sit in a vehicle for extended periods Flexibility to support changing schedules, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed Preferred Qualifications Autonomous vehicle, robotics, or vehicle testing experience Experience troubleshooting computers, networks, sensors, or embedded systems Experience with Jira, telematics, fleet management, or similar technical platforms Experience supporting engineering or software teams Experience in a shift-based or 24/7 technical operations environment Experience working in a role that required strong documentation, escalation, and real-time technical decision-making Schedule Day and night shifts available Weekend and holiday coverage may be required Some shifts may include extended workdays Some travel may be required Pay Candidates without prior autonomous vehicle experience: $31.00–$36.00/hr Candidates with 2+ years of relevant autonomous vehicle experience: $37.00–$43.00/hr Equity in the company 10–12% annual performance bonus Pay: $31.00 - $43.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance…
