John 3:16 Mission Staff Position & Description Position: Fleet Services Coordinator Employee Classification: Full time Non-Exempt Department: Facilities maintenance Reports To: Director of Facilities and Property Management Job Statement: The Fleet Services Coordinator promotes the safe and responsible operation of Mission vehicles through driver training, qualification, compliance, and vehicle readiness activities. This position coordinates driver on-boarding, safety instruction, competency assessments, and qualification records while supporting compliance with Mission vehicle policies. The role also evaluates donated vehicles for inclusion in the Mission's student carpool program and assists with fleet readiness efforts in coordination with the Facilities Maintenance Department. Duties: · Coordinate the onboarding process and training record keeping for Mission fleet vehicle operators. · Conduct driver orientation and vehicle familiarization training for staff, volunteers, and clients. · Assist in the development and lead the implementation of a driver training program focused on safe vehicle operation, risk reduction, and compliance with Mission vehicle policies. · Present safety and driver training materials in classroom, group, and hands-on instructional settings. · Maintain records related to driver qualifications, training, and evaluations. · Intake and evaluate donated vehicles and provide recommendations regarding their readiness for inclusion in the Mission's student carpool, and maintain records associated with donated vehicles. · Support the Facilities Maintenance Department by performing road safety inspections and assisting with the transportation of vehicles to and from repair facilities, service appointments, and other fleet related needs. · Maintain productive working relationships with internal departments, repair facilities, vendors, and partner organizations. · Assist management with gathering vehicle records or related information during incident reviews or investigations. · Promote compliance with Mission vehicle policies and identify opportunities to improve driver safety, awareness, and risk reduction. · Navigate basic office and digital systems: email, database entry, work order systems, expense reporting, etc. · Address any observed safety hazards. · Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications: · High school diploma or GED required. · Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. · Ability to safely operate a variety of vehicles, including SUVs, passenger vans, ADA-accessible shuttles, pickup trucks, and box trucks. · Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify vehicle conditions that may affect safety, reliability, or serviceability. · Experience in fleet operations, transportation, driver training, safety programs, or a related field preferred. · Experience conducting training, coaching, instruction, or group presentations preferred. · Working knowledge of safe driving practices, vehicle operation, and defensive driving principles. · Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and attention-to-detail skills. · Basic computer proficiency, including email, data entry, and web-based applications. · Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism when evaluating drivers and vehicles. · Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multiple departments, vendors, and service providers.
