About the Role Service Minds is seeking an experienced Fleet & Safety Manager to lead the development and continued growth of our fleet and workplace safety programs. This individual will be responsible for developing programs, establishing processes, creating training, analyzing safety and fleet data, and partnering directly with operational leaders to drive measurable improvements. This is a highly hands-on, field-facing role. The Fleet & Safety Manager must be equally comfortable analyzing data and preparing leadership reports as they are visiting branches and jobsites, conducting safety observations, delivering training, and working directly with employees and managers. What You’ll Do Safety Program Development & Leadership Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide workplace and fleet safety programs. Establish scalable safety standards, policies, procedures, and processes across multiple locations. Evaluate current safety practices and identify opportunities to strengthen programs, controls, training, and accountability. Partner with Operations and branch leadership to reinforce safety expectations and drive consistent execution. Maintain a visible presence across branches, field operations, warehouses, vehicles, and jobsites. Conduct safety inspections and observations and ensure identified corrective actions are addressed. Identify opportunities to reduce employee injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and other preventable losses. Safety Training & PPE Programs Develop, coordinate, and deliver ongoing employee and manager safety training. Develop and maintain a structured Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training and compliance program. Create training programs covering defensive driving, distracted driving, vehicle accident procedures, ladder safety, electrical awareness, heat illness prevention, slips/trips/falls, lifting, incident reporting, and other field-safety topics. Develop toolbox talks, safety communications, campaigns, and recurring safety initiatives. Coordinate new-hire safety and driver-safety training. Develop remedial training following vehicle accidents, injuries, unsafe driving events, near misses, or identified safety concerns. Track training completion and partner with Operations to address outstanding requirements. Use accident, injury, telematics, inspection, and other safety data to identify future training needs. Fleet Safety & Driver Risk Lead and continuously improve the Company’s Fleet Safety Program. Establish and reinforce standards for safe vehicle operation and driver behavior. Monitor vehicle accident frequency, severity, preventability, and recurring trends. Monitor MVR and driver-eligibility processes and ensure appropriate escalation of identified risks. Review telematics, GPS, dash-camera, and other driver-performance information. Analyze trends involving speeding, harsh braking, rapid acceleration, seatbelt use, distracted driving, and other driver behaviors. Identify high-risk drivers, recurring behaviors, branches, or markets requiring additional intervention. Coordinate defensive-driving and remedial driver training.
