Fleet Mechanic

Overview Keep a diverse fleet ready for safe, reliable work as a Fleet Mechanic. You’ll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles and equipment, including heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Your impact: By identifying and repairing mechanical issues promptly, you help drivers and equipment operators work safely and keep essential vehicles and machinery in service. Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance, and mechanical systems repair using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspension, shocks and struts, alignments, tires, and vehicle systems. Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems, HVAC, and hydraulics; interpret schematics to guide repairs. Service heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and Caterpillar machinery; support assembly, fabrication, welding, and soldering as needed. Complete inspections and maintenance records, provide responsive customer service, and safely handle heavy lifting when required. Requirements Mechanical knowledge and mechanic, service technician, or vehicle maintenance experience; dealership experience is a plus. Experience with diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, heavy truck repair, automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, brake repair, and equipment repair is preferred. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and vehicle mechanics for truck drivers is an asset. Electrical experience, hydraulic repair, fabrication, welding, soldering, tire service, and use of hand and power tools are valuable. Able to follow safety procedures, interpret schematics, and perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting.
