Role Description The Fleet Mechanic–Entry Level role is a full-time, on-site position based in Elkton, MD. This role supports the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles and heavy equipment, including inspections, basic diagnostics, and routine servicing. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, assisting with mechanical repairs, checking fluid levels, replacing filters and minor components, and helping senior technicians with more complex work. The role also involves keeping work areas organized, following safety procedures, documenting completed work, and communicating equipment issues to supervisors. This position offers opportunities to learn, grow technical skills, and advance within a professional fleet maintenance environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in general Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for trucks and equipment. Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance & Repair, including assisting with mechanical repairs and component replacement. Candidates should possess skills related to Heavy Equipment servicing and basic understanding of utility fleet vehicles. Candidates should possess basic Troubleshooting skills for identifying equipment issues and supporting diagnostic efforts. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel, automotive, or equipment maintenance is beneficial. Ability to use hand and power tools safely, read work orders, and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn from more experienced mechanics. Ability to lift and move equipment parts as required and work in a shop environment while adhering to safety standards.
