Role Description The Fleet Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Stockdale, TX. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing company trucks, trailers, and related heavy equipment used in water transfer operations. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, completing repairs in a timely manner, and documenting all work performed. The Fleet Mechanic will also conduct safety checks, ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, coordinate with operations staff to minimize equipment downtime, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for fleet vehicles and equipment. Candidates should possess skills in Maintenance & Repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems. Candidates should possess experience working with Heavy Equipment commonly used in oil and gas or industrial environments. Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently. Experience with diesel engines, braking systems, and trailer repair is beneficial. Knowledge of safety practices and regulations relevant to shop and field operations is preferred. Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation is helpful. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology is a plus. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is an advantage. Ability to work in outdoor and industrial conditions and lift moderate to heavy loads as needed.
