Ob jective: The Fleet Mechanic’s primary function is to provide maintenance and repairs to all company vehicles and equipment. Vehicles include gasoline engines, electric pallet jacks and forklifts. Accountabilities: Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems Conduct preventative maintenance, as scheduled, on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles Repair and install major components Service & repair brakes Repair & replace tires Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records May be required to perform other duties as assigned Two to four years of experience in fleet operations Must be a self-starter, dependable, safety minded, detail oriented and organized with processes and paperwork Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis from ground level and overhead. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment Ability to bend, kneel, stand, lift and perform physical labor for multiple hours at a time Ability to operate and maneuver a pallet jack with a weight load of approximately 2500 lbs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound customer service skills Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some daily overtime, holidays, evenings and weekends Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record are required Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen Class A CDL Preferred Must be able to pass a DOT physical if the candidate is a CDL driver
