Atlas-Apex Roofing (BC) Inc. is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager & Shop Mechanic to join our team full-time. Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and condition of local company trucks, vans, and equipment Provide fleet management oversight for Atlas-Apex Region 1 operations throughout British Columbia and Alberta Work with branch and regional management to establish and maintain consistent fleet maintenance standards across Region 1 Develop, implement and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for regional fleet vehicles and equipment Track vehicle maintenance, inspections, repairs, mileage and service history across Region 1 Monitor fleet condition and identify vehicles or equipment requiring major repairs, replacement or retirement Coordinate with branch personnel and outside service providers to ensure repairs and preventative maintenance are completed in a timely manner Assist management with annual fleet planning, vehicle replacement recommendations and repair/maintenance budgeting Monitor fleet repair and maintenance costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenses and equipment downtime Ensure fleet documentation, registrations, inspections and maintenance records are current and properly maintained Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical repairs on local fleet vehicles and equipment Maintain and repair roofing and construction equipment including generators, compressors, pumps, vacuums and small engines Diagnose mechanical issues and determine whether repairs can be completed internally or require outside servicing Ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced and ready for deployment to job sites Respond to vehicle and equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs as required Maintain inventory of common parts, fluids, filters and shop supplies Source and order parts required for repairs and preventative maintenance Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers and field crews to ensure equipment and vehicles are available when required Maintain communication with Region 1 branches regarding fleet condition, upcoming maintenance requirements and outstanding repairs Provide management with regular updates on fleet condition, maintenance costs, upcoming replacements and areas of concern Organize and keep the local shop and yard clean, safe and organized Travel to other Region 1 locations as required to inspect fleet assets, coordinate maintenance and support branch operations Ability to occasionally climb ladders and work at heights Skills/Qualifications: Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical, fleet maintenance or similar experience Previous experience managing or coordinating a multi-vehicle fleet preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Experience working on commercial vehicles, and construction equipment preferred Full valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record Small engine repair experience preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Strong computer skills with the ability to maintain fleet records, maintenance schedules and cost tracking Ability to coordinate maintenance and repairs across multiple branch locations Strong communication skills and ability to work with branch managers, field operations and senior management Ability to travel throughout British Columbia and Alberta as required We offer: Competitive salary – commensurate with experience A comprehensive benefit program for you and your family Pension Plan Benefits upon satisfactory probationary period review A culture that is built …
