Fleet Manager/Planner

Job description VSS Transportation Group is seeking a Fleet Manager/Planner to manage drivers and trucks in the day-to-day business operation. This position reports directly to VP of Operations. RESPONSIBLITIES: Communication to drivers, load information, advances, maintenance coordination, and performance counseling. Responsible for assisting and/or managing a fleet for optimum performance, in areas of on-time pickup and delivery, Hours of Service Compliance, availability and routing. Ensure that each driver has an adequate understanding of all details of customer and company expectations. Daily accounting of all assigned trucks and drivers Planning Record details and direction on all loads booked for the assigned area Supervise and monitor trailer pools Communicate any problems to manager or customer service Handle all container loads Daily interaction with operations personnel, drivers, shippers, consignees, and sales. REQUIREMENTS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to a handle a fast-paced work environment Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
