About A&O Relay A&O Relay LLC is an independently owned Amazon Delivery Service Partner serving customers across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia. We are building a dependable, safety-focused delivery team and seeking a hands-on Fleet Manager to keep our vehicles safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. Position Summary The Fleet Manager owns the daily condition, availability, maintenance, and organization of A&O Relay’s delivery fleet. You will work closely with our Operations Manager, Fleet technician, onsite and virtual dispatchers, drivers, repair vendors, and fleet providers to prevent avoidable downtime and ensure sufficient road-ready vehicles for scheduled routes. This role requires strong follow-through, practical mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and sound judgment under pressure. Key Responsibilities Daily Fleet Readiness Confirm vehicle availability before daily driver assignments and promptly communicate shortages or restrictions to Operations and dispatch. Maintain an accurate fleet tracker covering vehicle identification numbers (VINs), mileage, driver assignments, condition, service dates, and repair status. Review driver pre-trip and post-trip inspections; verify reported defects and arrange corrective action. Immediately remove unsafe vehicles from service and verify required repairs and clearance before returning them to use. Keep vehicles clean, fueled or charged as applicable, properly equipped, and organized for the next operating day. Maintenance and Repairs Maintain a preventive maintenance calendar based on mileage, manufacturer guidance, and applicable fleet program requirements. Schedule service to minimize disruption to route coverage. Diagnose basic vehicle concerns and coordinate repairs with qualified, approved service providers. Perform minor maintenance only within your training, authorization, and applicable program requirements. Track open repairs, expected completion dates, repeat defects, and warranty opportunities; escalate delays. Inspect completed work and maintain service records for each vehicle. Breakdowns, Accidents, and Damage Coordinate roadside assistance, towing, replacement vehicles, and safe vehicle exchanges with dispatch. Document vehicle damage with photographs, dates, mileage, and relevant driver information. Promptly escalate incidents and support required reporting, insurance claims, repair estimates, and follow-up. Review recurring damage patterns with the Operations Manager and help develop preventive coaching. Vehicle Records and Equipment Keep registrations, insurance documents, inspection records, and other applicable vehicle documentation current and accessible. Maintain accurate vehicle information in relevant Amazon and fleet-provider systems. Verify that Netradyne equipment and vehicle assignments are accurate; report device faults or VIN discrepancies. Organize keys, spare keys, fuel cards, safety equipment, and essential supplies. Conduct routine fleet audits and close identified deficiencies. Vendors, Rentals, and Costs Coordinate vehicle rentals, pickups, returns, replacements, and service appointments. Document condition at vehicle receipt and return to support resolution of damage charges. Review repair estimates and invoices, obtain required spending approvals, and flag questionable charges. Track maintenance spending, fuel usage, rental costs, and vehicle downtime. Recommend practical ways to reduce unnecessary costs while protecting safety and reliability. Team Coordination and Reporting Train drivers on inspections, prompt defect reporting, vehicle care, and breakdown procedures. Provide dispatch with a clear daily list of available, restricted, and out-of-service vehicles.
