Verde Electric Corp is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and manage a commercial fleet of 150+ trucks and vehicles. This is a hands-on management position responsible for ensuring the fleet is safe, reliable, compliant, properly maintained, and available to support the company's daily operations. The Fleet Manager will oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs, preventive maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, fuel management, fleet-related purchasing, vendor relationships, vehicle replacement, and fleet operating costs. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing a large commercial fleet and be comfortable working with drivers, mechanics, operations management, outside vendors, and senior leadership. Fleet Operations · Manage the company's fleet of 150+ trucks and vehicles. · Maintain accurate records for all vehicles, including maintenance, inspections, registrations, titles, mileage, and repair history. · Monitor vehicle utilization, availability, downtime, and operating costs. · Establish procedures to maximize fleet reliability and minimize vehicle downtime. · Coordinate vehicle assignments, replacements, transfers, and disposal. Maintenance & Repairs · Develop and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. · Schedule routine service, inspections, repairs, and emergency maintenance. · Monitor vehicle condition and identify issues before they become major repairs. · Manage relationships with dealerships, repair facilities, mobile mechanics, parts suppliers, and other vendors. · Review and approve repair estimates and invoices. · Negotiate pricing and service agreements with outside vendors. · Track maintenance costs by vehicle and identify opportunities to reduce expenses. Safety & Regulatory Compliance · Ensure all vehicles are properly inspected, registered, insured, and maintained. · Manage initial vehicle registrations and timely registration renewals for all fleet vehicles. · Maintain and update insurance coverage and documentation for all company vehicles and equipment. · Prepare and submit the annual diesel emissions inventory report. · Maintain compliance with applicable DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, state, and local requirements, as applicable to the company's operations. · Maintain required vehicle and driver documentation. · Coordinate DOT inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly. · Work closely with the company's safety department to address fleet-related safety issues. · Monitor accident and vehicle damage reports and coordinate repairs and claims. Financial & Administrative Management · Develop and manage the annual fleet maintenance and operating budget. · Track fuel, maintenance, parts, repairs, and other fleet-related expenses. · Manage quarterly Highway Use Tax (HUT) filings and payments. · Manage annual Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax filings and renewals. · Maintain and administer the fleet fuel card program, including card issuance, updates, account maintenance, and usage monitoring. · Manage International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) reporting and filings, including maintenance of fuel purchase and mileage records. · Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability. · Review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization. · Provide regular fleet performance and expense reports to management. Fleet Acquisition & Replacement · Assist management in determining vehicle replacement schedules. · Research truck specifications and recommend appropriate vehicles for company operations. · Obtain and compare pricing from dealers and manufacturers. · Coordinate the acquisition, upfitting, delivery, registration, and deployment of new vehicles. · Manage the sale or disposal of retired vehicles.
