Fleet Manager As Fleet Manager, you will oversee and manage the welding/fabrication and mechanic department to ensure quality of work and productivity. You will manage all capital improvement projects going on at the yard for these divisions including planning, scheduling, and budgeting. You will also be in charge of managing the vehicle fleet & equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and service. These duties include but are not limited to: Fleet and Equipment Oversight: Manage company vehicles and equipment, including regular maintenance logs, accurate record-keeping, registration, and asset transactions to support operations. Operational Efficiency and Standards: Implement and manage manufacturing equipment logs, standard operating procedures, and production standards; identify and execute improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Team and Project Management: Supervise welding and maintenance teams, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and project budgets. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a clean yard environment, manage construction and welding equipment, and ensure a safe workplace in compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and company policies, reporting any issues to the owner. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with planners to efficiently schedule equipment and manpower; interact with the office to request purchase orders and prepare expense reports. Procurement and Resource Coordination: Ensure timely acquisition of construction materials and services, oversee the scheduling and delivery of equipment and tools to job sites, and maintain project expense tracking to align with budgets. Required Qualifications: · Must have a valid US Driver’s License and a clean driving record · Bilingual in English and Spanish a MUST · Ability to work overtime as needed · Must have welding and mechanic knowledge to effectively manage these divisions and be able to produce products. Environment: Typical yard and manufacturing shop working environment necessary to perform all essential job functions with reasonable accommodations. Noise level is mostly low to moderate. Must be able to communicate clearly and relate well to others. Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs., stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform the essential functions of the position. · High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred · Three to five years of experience managing others · Well organized, self starting and able to handle multiple priorities effectively and motivate others to improve their quality of work.
