Fleet Maintenance Technician

FLEET MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / FUEL & YARD SUPPORT $30–$35/HOUR Timberland Trucking – Chicopee, MA Schedule: Part-Time | Day Shift | Flexible Hours Pay: $30–$35/hour, commensurate with experience Timberland Trucking is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Fleet Maintenance Technician to help maintain and support our fleet. This is a hands-on position for someone with fleet maintenance experience , ideally working with Freightliner trucks, trailers, and converter dollies . The position also includes regular fueling and DEF responsibilities to help ensure equipment is ready for service. What You'll Be Doing Fuel company trucks with diesel and DEF Monitor fuel and DEF levels and report supply needs Start, move, park, and shuttle trucks around the yard as needed Perform basic truck, trailer, and dolly inspections Identify and report DOT or mechanical issues Perform routine preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs Oil changes, fluid checks, filters, lights, tires, brakes, and other general repairs Troubleshoot basic electrical, air, and mechanical problems Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers and converter dollies Pick up parts and supplies when needed Help keep the shop, yard, tools, and parts organized Document completed work and communicate equipment issues with management Assist with other fleet and yard duties as needed What We're Looking For Class A or Class B CDL required; Class A preferred Fleet maintenance experience required Experience working with Freightliner trucks, trailers, and converter dollies strongly preferred Diesel and commercial truck repair experience Familiarity with air brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, and general fleet maintenance Experience fueling commercial vehicles and handling DEF preferred Able to safely operate and maneuver commercial vehicles Good mechanical troubleshooting ability Able to identify unsafe, damaged, or worn equipment Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently Takes care of company equipment, tools, and facilities Good communication and willingness to work with drivers and management Mechanical certifications and MA Hoisting License are a plus Why Timberland Trucking? $30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience Flexible part-time schedule Variety of mechanical, fueling, and fleet work Company tools and shop environment Small-team atmosphere Opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities for the right person Apply If you have fleet maintenance experience with commercial trucks, trailers, and dollies and take pride in keeping equipment fueled, maintained, safe, and road-ready, we'd like to talk with you.
