Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Role Overview: The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency. They identify continuous improvement opportunities, manage vendor relationships, and assist in equipment procurement and project recommendations. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing union and safety compliance issues, and ensuring accurate reporting of KPIs, parts inventory, and fuel audits. They handle DOT compliance tasks, investigate on-the-job injuries, and coordinate safety meetings. The role also involves developing department goals, managing staffing and performance, and supporting company-wide maintenance initiatives. Qualifications & Skills: Candidates need an associate’s degree in Heavy Truck and Diesel or a bachelor’s in Logistics, with at least five years of fleet maintenance experience and two years in a supervisory role. CDL A license and relevant certifications (Federal 608, 609, Brake Inspections) are preferred. Strong communication, organization, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required. Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, push/pull heavy loads, and work in various weather conditions is necessary. Key Duties: Oversee maintenance repairs, monitor safety and housekeeping, coordinate with vendors, assist in equipment purchases, manage reports and KPIs, ensure DOT compliance, conduct injury investigations, and lead staff development. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support operational excellence.
