Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role As a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic, you will serve as a vital member of our technical team, ensuring the reliability and safety of our diverse vehicle fleet. You will utilize your expertise in mechanical diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting to keep our vehicles running efficiently, directly impacting the safety and service quality for our community. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues across steering, braking, cooling, and drivetrain systems. Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet uptime and vehicle longevity. Perform critical safety inspections and road tests to ensure all repairs meet rigorous DOT and operational standards. Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced telematic devices to support fleet connectivity. Conduct on-the-road repairs and emergency service calls as required to maintain operational continuity. Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and labor hours accurately within our digital fleet management systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workshop environment that adheres to all safety regulations. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in automotive, truck, or bus mechanical repair. 1-3 years of specific experience working with medium or heavy-duty diesel fleets. Strong proficiency in computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management software. Deep understanding of DOT compliance requirements for medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Must possess a comprehensive set of personal hand tools suitable for heavy-duty mechanical work. Preferred Skills Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within 90 days. ASE Certifications in areas such as brakes, suspension, electrical, or engine repair. Status as a Master School Bus or Master Truck Technician.
