CSS TRANSPORTFleet Maintenance Manager – Diesel Truck & Trailer Shop University Transportation / CSS Diesel & Commercial TireLocation: Tuskegee, AL | Full-timePay: Based on experience We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead our diesel shop and oversee maintenance and repairs for our trucking fleet. The right person has strong diesel truck and trailer knowledge, experience managing mechanics, and the ability to keep equipment safe, dependable, and ready for dispatch. Responsibilities Manage daily shop operations, mechanics, work assignments, and repair priorities. Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and trailers. Troubleshoot mechanical problems and assist with repairs when needed. Coordinate with dispatch to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime. Maintain accurate service records and oversee DOT inspection and maintenance requirements. Manage parts inventory, purchasing, outside vendors, and repair costs. Coordinate roadside repairs and provide support for urgent equipment issues. Inspect completed work and hold the team accountable for quality, productivity, and shop safety. Qualifications Extensive experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers. Previous experience as a maintenance manager, shop foreman, or lead diesel technician. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, emissions systems, brakes, electrical systems, air systems, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to lead a team, organize workloads, and follow repairs through to completion. Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic. CDL preferred. We need a working manager who takes ownership of the shop, communicates clearly, and gets equipment repaired correctly and back on the road.
