Fleet & Facilities Technician
Beacon Marine Construction LLCPosition Summary The Fleet & Facilities Technician supports the maintenance, readiness, and operational efficiency of company vessels, vehicles, facilities, and equipment. This position performs preventive maintenance, assists with basic mechanical repairs, manages tool and inventory accountability, maintains clean and organized workspaces, and provides day-to-day operational support to the Fleet & Facilities Manager to ensure all fleet assets remain safe, compliant, and mission-ready. Fleet and Equipment Preventive Maintenance o Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on vehicles, vessels, trailers, and equipment. o Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs before failures occur. o Maintain maintenance logs and inspection records. o Report mechanical issues and repair recommendations to the Fleet & Facilities Manager. o Ensure all fleet assets remain operational, clean, and service-ready. Vessel Maintenance and Readiness o Clean and maintain vessels to operational standards. o Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of vessel systems and components. o Conduct pre- and post-use vessel inspections. o Maintain vessel readiness, organization, and appearance. Tool and Inventory Management o Maintain accurate inventory of shop tools, parts, and consumables. o Conduct monthly inventory audits and reconciliation. o Track damaged, missing, or obsolete equipment. o Coordinate replenishment requests with the Fleet & Facilities Manager. o Ensure proper storage and organization of all tools and materials, including the shared tool room, container boxes, shop loft, shop floor, and assigned storage areas. Fleet Support and Errand Management o Complete assigned pickups, deliveries, and vendor runs in a timely manner. o Transport equipment, parts, and supplies between facilities and vessels. o Support scheduling and logistics activities as needed. o Assist with fleet mobilization and demobilization activities, including vessel deliveries, tug/barge moves, and field support when assigned. Shop and Facility Operations o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment. o Perform general labor tasks supporting fleet and facility operations. o Assist with facility upkeep and minor maintenance projects. o Maintain organization and housekeeping standards across the facility, outdoor production areas, upper and lower lots at 37 Bowdoin Road, shop and yard at 23 Bog Road, and laydown yard at Osterville Pit. Safety and Compliance o Follow all company safety policies and procedures. o Perform routine safety inspections of assigned equipment and work areas. o Maintain required certifications, licenses, and training needed to operate assigned equipment, vehicles, vessels, and machinery. o Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, and equipment deficiencies. o Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
