Fleet & Equipment Mechanic – Light Trucks & Heavy Equipment

AVA Maintenance Management is hiring a Fleet & Equipment Mechanic in Calgary to help keep our property maintenance, snow removal and construction crews running. Full-time or part-time, permanent, year-round opportunity. Pay: $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. What you will work on Gas and diesel light trucks, trailers, small engines, snow removal equipment and heavy-duty equipment, including skid steers, loaders and Kubota tractors. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections and servicing. Troubleshoot trailer wiring and lighting and prepare equipment for crews. Respond to breakdowns and communicate repair priorities and equipment readiness to operations. Complete basic non-structural welding repairs within your qualifications. Keep accurate maintenance and repair records and follow AVA’s COR safety procedures. Qualifications Certified journeyperson or experienced apprentice with relevant fleet and equipment repair experience. Experience working on both light trucks and heavy-duty equipment. Three or more years of mechanical experience preferred. Ability to troubleshoot problems, organize repairs and communicate clearly with the team. Clean driving record; Class 5 licence preferred. Equipment operating experience is an asset. Schedule Full-time and part-time applicants are welcome. Schedule and hours will be discussed based on availability and operational needs. Some evening, weekend and on-call availability may be needed, particularly during snowfall.
