ENCORE RAIL SYSTEMS INCJob Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, building, and maintaining a wide range of railroad equipment to ensure optimal performance. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various projects that require reliable machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on work with a wide range of systems to include Hydraulics, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Chemical on our Machines. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering top-tier equipment service. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on Encore equipment. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to prevent equipment breakdowns. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and hydraulic system analysis to identify root causes efficiently. Repair and replace components such as engines, brakes, air components , hydraulics, and electrical systems to restore equipment functionality. Fabricate parts or modifications when standard OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are unavailable or custom solutions are needed. Operate heavy equipment like forklifts or cranes for testing repairs or moving machinery safely around the shop. Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities; perform inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for accountability and future reference. Experience Proven mechanic experience utilizing hand and power tools. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication techniques is a plus. Familiarity with diesel engines, air brake systems, HVAC systems in equipment, and hydraulic systems is a plus. Ability to interpret technical schematics and manuals accurately; experience with electrical systems troubleshooting is a plus. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members. Desired Traits Mechanical aptitude. Ability to work in a shop enviroment. Integrity.
