About The Position The Mechanic is responsible for performing inspection, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation in support of field and warehouse operations. This role independently completes a wide range of mechanical services, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supports preventative maintenance programs in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, objectives, and regulations. Ideal Candidate Experienced Mechanic: 2–4+ years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, trucks, or heavy equipment, with a strong background in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, braking, transmission, engine, and diagnostic systems, with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively. Safety-Focused: Strong commitment to workplace safety, DOT requirements, inspections, and maintaining equipment in a safe and reliable condition. CDL experience would be a plus. Day In the Life Perform routine and complex mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on company-owned vehicles and equipment, including engines, brakes, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components in accordance with manufacturer and Company standards. Conducts vehicle and equipment inspections to identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, and potential failures. Documents inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately and timely. Diagnoses mechanical issues using appropriate tools, equipment, and technical manuals. Reports equipment defects, failures, or safety hazards promptly to the Fleet Manager. Operates tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment safely and properly. Maintains an organized, safe, and clean service work area. Assists with parts identification, ordering, pickup, and inventory management as needed. Provides guidance and direction to mechanic apprentices or less experienced team members, as assigned. Attends required training, safety meetings, and departmental meetings. Follows all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and operational procedures. Represents the Company professionally and supports positive working relationships with internal teams. Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others. Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
