Fleet Coordinator – Compliance & Driver Recruiting

Company Overview Mountain Intermodal has been in business for over 30 years. Our fleet of 40 trucks moves containers from rail yards across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the tri-state area. We're looking for an organized, dependable Fleet Coordinator to join our fleet team, reporting to our Fleet Manager. You'll help keep our drivers compliant, our records accurate, and our trucks on the road. What you'll do Recruit, interview, and hire CDL drivers, from reviewing applications and checking backgrounds to onboarding new hires Keep driver qualification files, CDLs, medical cards, and DOT records current Monitor ELD logs and Hours of Service in Samsara, and follow up on violations and safety events Enter and maintain fleet and driver data accurately Coordinate breakdowns and roadside repairs: find vendors, arrange towing, and keep drivers updated Track truck registrations, permits, inspections, and maintenance due dates Support drug and alcohol testing, audits, and safety meetings Communicate with drivers throughout the day by phone and text What we're looking for A good judge of character. You can read people and spot a reliable driver. 1–2 years of experience in trucking, fleet, logistics, or DOT compliance (preferred) Driver recruiting or hiring experience is a plus A CDL is a plus but not required Strong data entry skills and attention to detail Comfortable with computers, Excel, and ELD systems. Samsara experience is a big plus. Knowledge of PA, NJ, and tri-state area roads, rail yards, and ports Stays calm under pressure when a truck breaks down Clear communicator who can work with drivers, mechanics, and office staff Reliable transportation Pay: Starting pay is $22–$25/hour, depending on experience.
