Fleet Bus Maintenance Diagnostics Specialist

This is a Monday–Friday, first-shift role (9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.) paying $26–$35 per hour. Why you'll thrive here Steady daytime schedule—predictable hours with meaningful impact Variety of work—from PMs to complex overhauls and electronic diagnostics Tools of the trade—daily use of Cummins Insite, Wabco, and Allison platforms Safety-first culture with DOT compliance at the core Your core responsibilities Service gasoline and diesel school buses: basic maintenance through complete vehicle repairs Diagnose mechanical faults and drive a structured preventive maintenance schedule Perform major/minor engine and transmission overhauls Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems (engines, knock sensors, brake system HCU units) Maintain and repair brakes, air compressors, fuel and ignition systems, HVAC, wheelchair lifts, and A/C units Conduct DOT inspections and perform compliant repairs Log time and material usage with accuracy What we look for 3+ years in bus or medium-duty truck maintenance (International Truck/Bus experience a plus) Personal tool set required Knowledge of pupil transportation regulations (including IDOT inspections) CDL Class B with air brake endorsement preferred; A/C certification preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to perform under deadlines while staying positive and customer-focused Self-directed with a track record of finishing assignments on time Pay, schedule, and location $26–$35 per hour Monday–Friday, first shift 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Milwaukee, WI Benefits that back you LAUNCH offers all full-time employees the opportunity to enroll in various medical and ancillary benefit plans to allow each employee to find a plan that works best for themselves and their family.
