Job Summary Performs highly skilled maintenance and repair to automobiles, light/medium truck and or equipment maintenance and repair. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Faculty and staff. This position will supervise: N/A Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot utilizing automated diagnostic tools. Job Duty 2 - Maintain major component repairs, electrical systems controls, and preventative maintenance services to all Georgia Tech (GT) state owned automobiles, trucks, and equipment. Job Duty 3 - Ensure the safe and proper operation of tools and power equipment adhering to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements. Job Duty 4 - Road tests vehicles and trucks upon completion of repairs to ensure proper functioning and safe operating conditions. Job Duty 5 - Perform inspections on automotive and mechanical equipment to identify repair needs and provide accurate cost estimates. Job Duty 6 - Work with Parts Specialist regarding shop inventory and equipment. Assist with department asset inventory and reconciliation. Job Duty 7 - Diagnose, repair, and overhaul vehicle systems including brakes, ignition, electrical, transmission, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
