Role Description The Flatbed Truck Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Mobile, AL. This position is responsible for scheduling and dispatching flatbed trucks, assigning loads to drivers, and coordinating pickup and delivery times to meet customer and company requirements. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring driver locations, tracking shipments, responding to calls and messages from drivers and customers, and updating dispatch systems with accurate status information. The role involves communicating loading instructions, verifying necessary documentation, resolving route or timing issues, and collaborating with operations and safety teams to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The dispatcher also assists with maintaining records, supporting load planning, and contributing to continuous improvement of dispatch processes and service quality. Qualifications Experience in truck dispatching or transportation coordination, ideally with flatbed operations. Strong communication and customer service skills to work effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Ability to use dispatch, routing, and scheduling software, as well as basic office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets). Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple loads, priorities, and deadlines. Knowledge of basic transportation regulations, safety considerations, and documentation requirements is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is a plus. Capacity to work on-site, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and make sound decisions under time pressure.
