BluRebar & MaterialsJob Title: Flatbed Driver Reports To: Director of Operations Position Summary The Flatbed Driver is responsible for transporting goods via flatbed truck to customers and job site. This role requires strong focus on safety and attention to detail. Duties/Responsibilities Understands fully how to operate and safely drive assigned vehicle. Safely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site as needed Strive to meet customer expectations without exception and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with LLL objectives Develop extensive working relationships with customers, both external and internal, in order to maximize opportunities for LLL and to ensure customer needs are addressed Keep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanliness Maintain personal appearance in neat and clean manner. Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions as needed Assist other company employees as needed Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water 15 minute Start-Up 20 minutes Shut-Down May perform roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs, etc. Maintain good working knowledge of the traffic routes of the city Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management Cooperate and promote a team concept between himself and all other company employees, as well as all LLL customers Ability to have extreme focus on road and safety. Abides by all traffic laws. Abides by company, local, state, and federal regulations. Operates machinery for loading and unloading as needed. Adhere to all LLL, DOT, FMCSA, OSHA rules and regulations at all times Meet or exceed company safety standards Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions. Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change. Ability to work alone and with others. Ability to remain alert and focused and ignore distractions. Maintains a clean driving record. Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful. Communicates effectively High school diploma / GED preferred Bilingual a plus Able to use a variety of technology Education and Experience Commercial Driver’s License required. DOT card clearance required. Physical & Work Environment Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and use of straps to secure loads Must pass DOT physical to include hearing test and drug/alcohol screen While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to customers / employees as well as function safely around other equipment Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Must pass DOT physical to include hearing test and drug/alcohol screen Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and working outdoors Must wear protective equipment in all designated areas and customer job sites Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
