Flatbed Dispatcher

Wave Express, an Employee Stock Owner Plan company, is looking for a Flatbed Dispatcher to join our team. The Flatbed Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching loads to contractors assigned to the position as efficiently and effectively as possible with a priority on dispatching hot loads, loads with critical delivery deadlines and older loads. The Flatbed Dispatcher is tasked with developing a productive relationship with the contractors assigned to the position to maximize their productivity, profitability and satisfaction to maximize load deliveries and minimize contractor turnover. Flatbed Dispatchers are required to start work promptly at 8:00 am Monday through Friday and work until at least 5:00 pm. Qualifications: 1. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: · High school degree · College degree preferred but not required 2. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: · Minimum one year experience working with contractors in the transport industry. · One year experience as a dispatcher preferred. 3. LANGUAGE SKILLS: · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies, procedures, and contracts · Ability to complete forms and write reports and business correspondence · Ability to speak professionally with Contractors and other business people 4. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: · Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, quantities, volume and weight distribution. 5. REASONING ABILITY: · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 6. LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS NEEDED: · No specific requirement 7.
