Fitter/Fabricator
Total SafetyTotal Safety is looking for a Fitter/Fabricator to join their safety conscious team! The Fitter/Fabricator is responsible for various types of weld preparation, fitting and operations to manufacture standard and custom products to company generated drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Primary Responsibilities Interpret mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings, including weld requirement symbology Verify raw materials (dimensions, weights, pipe schedule, etc.) Cut raw materials (by flame or saw) Clean and prepare raw materials for fabrication Fit raw materials into an assembly according to shop drawings Perform dimensional checks of fitted assemblies according to shop drawings Operate computer controlled pipe cutting machine Operate pipe threading machine Operate parts cleaning station Operate numerous hand tools (drill, grinder, orbital sander, etc.) Operate drill press, bench grinder, band saw, iron worker, etc. Operate small sand blasting glove booth Operate lifting equipment (overhead crane and jib hoists) Operate material handling equipment (forklift and manual cart) Operate hydrotesting station Comply with all aspects of the DTI Health and Safety Program as it applies to position, as this position has been designated as Safety Sensitive. Comply with all aspects of the DTI ISO 9001 Quality Management System as it applies to position. Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
