Dominguez Family EnterprisesEssential Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Direct and oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reporting. Analyze financial results and explain significant variances to management. Maintain accurate and timely accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and other external financial reporting requirements. Manufacturing & Cost Accounting Oversee product costing and manufacturing cost accounting. Monitor costs associated with ingredients, packaging materials, direct labor, production overhead, freight, and other manufacturing expenses . Analyze standard costs versus actual costs and investigate significant variances. Monitor production yields, scrap, waste, spoilage, downtime, and other factors affecting product profitability. Work with Production and Operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved manufacturing efficiency. Maintain accurate bills of materials, standard costs, and inventory valuations. Analyze production and inventory variances and communicate findings to management. Assist with determining accurate costs and margins by product, customer, and product line. Inventory Management Oversee accounting for raw materials, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory. Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory records to the general ledger. Establish and monitor procedures for physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, or expired inventory. Work with Operations and Purchasing to improve inventory accuracy and control. Analyze inventory turnover and working-capital requirements. Budgeting & Financial Planning Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Prepare operating budgets in coordination with department managers. Develop financial forecasts based on production volumes, sales forecasts, commodity costs, labor costs, and operating expenses. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis. Assist management with long-term financial planning and capital expenditure analysis. Cash Flow & Working Capital Monitor daily and monthly cash flow. Manage working-capital requirements, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory. Develop cash-flow forecasts and communicate significant cash requirements to senior management. Monitor customer receivables and vendor payment obligations. Assist with banking relationships and financing activities. Internal Controls & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies. Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate controls. Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and authorization procedures. Support external auditors, tax professionals, insurance providers, and other outside advisors. Management Support Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the President, CFO, and management team. Develop financial reports and key performance indicators for management. Assist in evaluating pricing, product profitability, capital investments, equipment purchases, and expansion opportunities. Partner with Operations to evaluate manufacturing efficiency and cost-saving opportunities. Provide financial insight regarding new products, customers, vendors, and production processes.
