We are poised for growth, looking to scale up from $12m sales to $100m+/year over the next 3-4 years by further professionalizing, systematizing, and expanding operations. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, progressive, detail oriented and highly driven Field Operations Manager to help lead our installation teams. This is a critical leadership role for someone deeply knowledgeable in construction and passionate about helping build the systems, processes, and teams required to deliver exceptional projects — on time, on budget, with extremely high quality, and customer satisfaction. The Field Operations Manager oversees all aspects of the day-to-day field install operations including hiring, training and managing the performance of field staff and crews. They are also responsible for the acquisition, maintenance and safety of all tools, vehicles, uniforms and other materials needed to execute our standard work. They will develop SOPs and the systems to support the field teams as well as any technology, software platforms or other tools intended to measure performance, increase efficiency, track compliance with policies and standards etc.They will be responsible for the training, career progression and ongoing performance evaluations of their team with the goal of creating a cohesive, positive and rewarding work environment. This is a 5-6 day/week - on call after that position. Our crews are typically working Monday through Saturday. Frequent in-market travel will be required and the Manager will be expected to interact with customers on a daily basis to ensure satisfaction and compliance with standards. The Right Candidate Will Have Technical Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in residential construction and a current builders license with a strong focus on framing (both rough and finish) and finish carpentry installation and techniques including: Framing components, including fasteners, brackets, hangers, and other hardware commonly used in deck construction. Ability to plan and lay out footings, span charts and framing plans to ensure compliance with code and structural requirements. Knowledge of zoning and other local ordinances and the ability to work with municipalities to get the needed permits and job approvals. Highly computer literate and experienced with basic AI platforms, CRMs and google suite. Proficiency with project management software, estimating tools and the ability to learn and become proficient with new technologies quickly. Managerial Skills 5+ years experience in people and process management in a fast-paced, high-volume residential construction environment. Proven ability to foster an amazing work environment, hold people accountable, reward success and create career paths. Proven experience with permitting, scheduling, estimating, and materials procurement, including coordination of multiple overlapping projects. Demonstrated ability to plan and run multiple jobs and crews simultaneously, maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency. Deep understanding of how to manage performance and compensation for both W2 and 1099 crews Dedication to creating amazing customer experiences through clear communications, accountability and the finesse to work through any issue that may arise on a job.
