Fertilizer Production Manager

Job Summary Lewis Seed Company is hiring a Fertilizer Production Manager to oversee fertilizer production, blending, packaging, inventory, and daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating production teams, maintaining product quality, improving operational efficiency, managing materials, and ensuring safe and consistent production processes. Common Job Roles Fertilizer Production Manager Fertilizer Manufacturing Manager Agricultural Production Manager Fertilizer Operations Manager Plant Production Manager Key Responsibilities Oversee daily fertilizer production, blending, packaging, and processing operations Plan production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and operational requirements Supervise, train, and support production employees and team leads Monitor production output, product quality, efficiency, and material usage Coordinate the receiving, storage, and movement of fertilizer ingredients and production materials Maintain accurate production, inventory, and operational records Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs when needed Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste Ensure fertilizer products are blended, packaged, labeled, and stored according to company standards Monitor production costs, material usage, and operational efficiency Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and applicable handling requirements Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, sales, and distribution teams Prepare production reports and communicate operational performance to management Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; agricultural, manufacturing, or business education is a plus Previous supervisory or management experience Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, and quality management Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Basic computer and production reporting skills Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational quality Preferred Skills Experience with fertilizer blending, agricultural products, or related manufacturing operations Knowledge of production equipment and material-handling procedures Strong inventory and production planning abilities Experience with quality-control processes Familiarity with agricultural supply chains and seasonal production demands Strong team leadership and employee development skills Ability to identify process improvements and reduce production waste About the Company Lewis Seed Company operates in the agricultural industry, supporting seed, fertilizer, and related agricultural products and services.
