Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC16 - $57,983 to $101,470
Management prefers applicants with the following:
Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of ferry vessels.
Demonstrated ability to ensure NCDOT Ferry Division polices are communicated, applied, and enforced. (i.e. safety, accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative)
Experience in planning, organizing, delegating, creating schedules, and budgets.
Experience scheduling and communicating with and dispatch ferry crews, work crews, equipment or equipment vehicles to appropriate locations according to specifications or safety needs.
Knowledge of all applicable USCG rules and regulations that directly impact ferry operations.
Minimum Education and Experience

Associate's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in office management or related administrative work; or,
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma with six years of experience in office management or related administrative work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Ordinary Seaman (OS) Certificate issued by the U.S. Coast Guard within 90 days of hire.
