FEED TRUCK DRIVER/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Equipment Operator: Be able to precisely load feed feed trucks utilizing a front-end loader for pre-determined rations. Feed Distribution & Accuracy : Operate feed trucks daily to distribute precise, pre-determined quantity of rations to cattle according to strict yard guidelines for timing and accuracy. Technology Utilization : Use an on-board laptop device to manage and communicate assigned loads and specific pen locations. Quality & Error Control : Identify various feed rations and quickly correct errors by shoveling over-fed quantities, reporting misfeeds to management, and clearing spills. Bunk Maintenance : Maintain clean feed bunks by occasionally removing mold, rocks, manure, and debris according to facility specifications. Equipment Care : Perform scheduled inspections and routine servicing to minimize truck downtime, while keeping the cab and exterior clean and washed. Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety rules, protocols, and operational policies. Communication: Be able to effectively communicate any errors to management. EXPERIENCE Proven experience operating farm machinery including agricultural tractors, livestock feeders, and heavy equipment. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with skills in equipment repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery. Prior farm experience with animal husbandry, livestock management, or animal care is desirable. Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and heavy equipment operation. Strong outdoor work background involving manual handling, heavy lifting, and the use of hand tools or power tools. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS In this role, the employee regularly works outdoors across all weather conditions, with frequent exposure to airborne particles, loud noise levels, and moving mechanical parts. The position requires working in close proximity to cattle, horses, vehicles, and equipment. Physical demands include regular shoveling of feed, sitting for extended periods while driving, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Employees must frequently climb, balance, bend, stand, squat, kneel, reach, push/pull, twist, and utilize strong grasping/squeezing movements.
