We currently hiring dependable, motivated, and safety-conscious delivery drivers for the FedEx Alternative Vehicle Program (AVP). The AVP Program offers an opportunity to work with FedEx Ground contractors without driving large delivery trucks. Drivers use their own approved personal vehicles to deliver small packages in assigned, easy-to-navigate delivery areas. Drivers will report to the FedEx Ground terminal located at 1645 Ashton Park Dr, Colonial Heights (South Chesterfield), VA 23834 Join our team and become part of a professional, supportive, and growing delivery operation! Compensation & Pay $160 per day Assigned routes typically consist of approximately 50–60 delivery stops per day. Weekly pay via direct deposit every Friday. Consistent route opportunities based on operational needs and driver availability. Additional opportunities may be available during peak season. Drivers are expected to complete their assigned routes safely and efficiently while meeting established delivery requirements. Typical Work Schedule Flexible scheduling: 2–6 days per week, based on availability and operational needs. Typical shifts range from 4–8 hours. Routes generally begin between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Available schedules may include: Monday through Friday Monday through Saturday Saturdays Saturdays as needed Additional days during peak season, including Sundays, based on operational requirements and driver availability. Responsibilities Safely deliver FedEx Ground packages using an approved personal vehicle. Complete approximately 50–60 assigned delivery stops per day. Follow assigned routes and delivery instructions. Properly scan and deliver packages using FedEx-approved technology. Maintain professional and courteous customer service. Ensure packages are handled safely and delivered accurately. Communicate delivery issues, delays, and exceptions to management. Maintain a safe, clean, and reliable delivery vehicle. Follow all applicable FedEx Ground and company safety procedures. Driver Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record. Previous delivery or job-related driving experience preferred, but not required. Must successfully complete the required background check and drug screening. Background checks and drug testing are paid for by the company. Must have an approved, reliable, and safe personal delivery vehicle. Eligible vehicles may include: SUVs Pickup trucks with enclosed cabs Vans Cars and sedans Must be able to lift, carry, and deliver packages weighing approximately 1–20 pounds, with most packages being lightweight. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Must be willing to begin employment before Thanksgiving and maintain reliable attendance, with no unexcused callouts or preventable safety violations or accidents during the initial period.
