Responsibilities Safely operate a box truck or personal vehicle for delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Navigate route driving efficiently, utilizing mobile devices for directions and delivery updates to optimize delivery times. Interact professionally with customers, providing excellent customer service by confirming deliveries and addressing inquiries courteously. Perform manual handling tasks including moving packages, heavy lifting, and loading/unloading cargo while following safe lifting practices. Maintain accurate delivery records using mobile devices, ensuring all packages are accounted for and properly documented. Follow warehouse operations procedures when managing incoming or outgoing shipments related to delivery routes. Qualifications Prior experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations is highly preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or van driving is advantageous. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and manual handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Knowledge of DOT regulations, traffic laws, and weight handling in the workplace to ensure safety at all times. Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude and excellent communication abilities. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, moving packages, and long periods of standing or walking. Requirements Be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Have reliable transportation to and from the Sparrows Point, MD terminal every workday. Pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check. Be able to lift and handle packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment, such as a dolly. Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and customer service skills. Previous commercial driving or package pickup and delivery experience is preferred but not required .
