Responsibilities Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to transport packages across designated routes. Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques or material handling equipment like pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Follow all traffic regulations and company policies to maintain safety on the road and in the workplace. Use mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate routes efficiently and update delivery statuses accurately. Interact courteously with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally. Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding hours of service, weight handling, and vehicle safety standards. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal operation of delivery equipment. Requirements Prior experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services is preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is a plus. Experience operating box trucks, cargo vans, or personal vehicles for commercial purposes. Ability to lift heavy packages safely using manual handling techniques; familiarity with heavy lifting protocols is advantageous. Knowledge of traffic laws and adherence to safety regulations during route driving. Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and communication purposes. Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients.
