Fashion Assistant Buyer (relocation offered)
Creative CircleOur client is looking for an Assistant Buyer to support category performance, assortment execution, and business growth within a fast-paced retail environment. APPAREL experience is required. They will not consider anyone who does not have this. This roles partner closely with Buying, Planning, Inventory Management, Visual Merchandising, and Product teams to deliver compelling assortments that meet customer needs and drive financial results. This is a hybrid opportunity in Columbus, Ohio. Relocation benefits are available. The ideal candidates are analytical, trend-aware, and passionate about retail, with a strong ability to interpret business performance, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Provide administrative and operational support across assigned product categories. Maintain product management systems and ensure assortment information is accurate and up to date. Support weekly business reviews by gathering, consolidating, and reporting selling performance and key business metrics. Analyze sales trends and provide insights to help improve category performance. Assist with seasonal hindsight reviews and assortment evaluations to support future product strategies. Partner with cross-functional teams including Buying, Planning, Inventory Management, and Visual Merchandising to support execution of business initiatives. Coordinate assortment updates, product information, and floor set communications across teams. Monitor promotions, pricing, product placement, competitor activity, and customer trends to identify opportunities and risks. Stay informed on market trends, emerging products, customer preferences, and retail best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Internship, co-op, or early career experience in buying, merchandising, retail, planning, or a related field preferred. Strong interest in retail, product, customer trends, and merchandising. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and business data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and comfort learning merchandising and product management systems. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to travel as needed.
