Job Summary

The Tides Inn Resort Farm focuses on sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, land stewardship, and guest-connected farm experiences. We blend traditional farm work with eco-conscious practices, including regenerative agriculture, composting, and integrated pest management. Our farm operates in partnership with our chefs to create authentic farm-to-table experiences for our guests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role. This is an on-site position. Responsibilities include general farm labor such as fencing, mowing, weeding, seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weed management, cut flower production, and fulfilling restaurant orders. The role also supports sustainability initiatives including compost management, soil building, and organic practices, as well as integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and year-round high tunnel production.

Additional duties include daily animal care (feeding, watering, cleaning), grounds and property maintenance, and small equipment operation (training provided). The position may also assist with guest engagement activities such as tours and educational demonstrations, along with other duties based on seasonal and project needs. Qualifications

Candidates should have practical experience in sustainable agriculture and regenerative practices, along with an understanding of biodiversity principles and habitat care. Exposure to integrated pest management (IPM) is preferred. Hands-on experience in soil care, composting, and land restoration is valuable, as is familiarity with basic equipment operation and farm management.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in agriculture is preferred but not required. A Produce Safety Manager certification is also preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

This role operates in an outdoor farm environment in all types of weather conditions and uses equipment such as golf carts, landscaping equipment, and hand tools. The position requires sitting approximately 10% of the time, standing 20%, and walking or bending 70%. The ability to lift up to 75 pounds is required. Clear vision is necessary for computer use, property navigation, and safety, while hearing is required for phone use, guest interaction, and safety awareness. Occasional local travel for store runs may be required. Driving responsibilities may include operating golf carts, grounds vehicles, and transporting others, and may require motor vehicle record monitoring.
